“You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” – Elvis Presley

This video features audio from Sony/Follow That Dream’s ” That’s The Way It Is – 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition”.
Both the 1970 and 2001 versions both contained Elvis performing “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” either in rehearsal or on stage with the final product. During production of “That’s The Way It Is” in July and August 1970, MGM filmed at least one version at each stage of the progression from rehearsal to the stage both in Culver City (on 14 and 29 July) and in Las Vegas. This version is the first rehearsal with backing vocals included which took place in the International Hotel’s convention center on 4 August 1970. MGM would then film a stage rehearsal version in the hotel’s main showroom three days later followed by two live versions on 10 and 12 August.
Fresh from recording the song in Nashville just nine weeks earlier, Elvis would have include the song as one of eight new songs introduced to the show on 10 August.
