The Elvis Presley movie “Flaming Star” opened nationwide in the U.S. For that week the movie was #12 on the National Box Office Survey,due to strict laws of the racial separation the movie was banned in South Africa because of its focus on the complications of a bi-racial family.
Elvis Presley was inducted into the Los Angeles Indian Tribal Council coinciding with the opening with his movie “Flaming Star” in which he played a character that was half Kiowa.
