Being a talented hair stylist, she could give Presley a trim whenever he was in L.A. or if his usual stylist (Larry Geller) wasn’t around. She also did Priscilla’s hair for awhile.
For the “Aloha From Hawaii” TV special in ‘73, Patty was flown out to give Elvis a touch up prior to the broadcast—a haircut that was seen by more than 1 billion people in the first ever worldwide entertainment broadcast! Rehearsal footage (shot 47 years ago today) shows theking looking a bit shaggier than the well coiffed guy seen on the live telecast two days later. “Patty look,” Elvis said when she arrived in Honolulu, “I’ve gotten really thin…I feel really good.”
