Biography – Elvis: That’s The Way It Was

Elvis Presley (01/08/1935 – 08/16/1977) was a famous singer, musician, entertainer and actor from Memphis, Tennessee, USA. In his 24-year creative period, he recorded over 800 songs from many different musical genres (Rhythm and Blues, Blues, Soul, Country, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Gospels, Christmas Songs, Beat, Ballads…).
He arranged these songs in his own way, developing his own incomparable style and making the music his own.

Elvis has made 31 feature films and 2 documentaries and given over 1100 concerts. His music has been and continues to be sold in the billions.

In the US alone, he received 170 different RIAA awards (gold, platinum, multi-platinum). Of the 14 Grammy nominations, he received three, for his gospel albums! He is the only artist to be represented in 5 “Halls of Fame”, and 6 of his interpretations were included in the “Grammy Hall of Fame” as “particularly historically significant”.
