Audubon Drive – Elvis Presley’s first home

During the rise of an international artist, Elvis Presley lived at 1034 Audubon Drive in Memphis, Tennessee. It was the Presley family’s first home.

While the King Of Rock ’nā€˜ Roll was on a tour on March 20, 1956, his parents Vernon and Gladys Presley were overjoyed and proud when they moved into their first house, as they had previously lived exclusively in social and rented apartments.

Elvis Presley paid a total of $ 40,000 for the four bedroom property on Audubon Drive. The sum comes from the license income of his first number 1 hit “Heartbreak Hotel”, which was released under the RCA label.
