Elvis bought the Santa sleigh and 8 reindeer for $300 from Bain Sigh Company in Memphis. They are still displayed on the Graceland lawn every year.

December 16, 1957 – from Memphis Press-Scimitar: “Goodfellows Helped Elvis – So He Helps Goodfellows – A Santa Without Whiskers – That’s what Elvis Presley turned out to be. He bought a big bundle of Christmas happiness for 111 needy Memphis and Shelby County youngsters when he presented Press-Scimitar Goodfellows with $1.000. All aglow over the big gift, was Jesse Anderson, one of the most active Goodfellows, who is receiving it”.

Elvis and Priscilla returned to Memphis.

1970

Elvis countersues Patricia Parker in her paternity suit and views the final cut
of That’s The Way It Is while in L.A.

1973

Including all the recordings of the last couple of days, Elvis finished 18 masters.
The songs reflected Elvis happier state of mind. For instance: I Got A Feeling In My Body, If You Talk In Your Sleep, Loving Arms, Talk About The Good Times and a rocking version of Promised Land.
