“Before Elvis there was nothing at all,” said a man who was also something of a musical mind: John Lennon. Presley was, and still is “the King”. Loosely career a few coincidences were for his example to be responsible.
80 years ago was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, a boy under lousy conditions. The mother was constantly sick, the father had only occasional jobs. When the twins announced, he built a poor wooden house. In one of the two rooms Jesse Garon came to the world; a stillbirth. Half an hour later, the second child, was baptized in the name of Elvis Aaron followed. As it was a year old, survived the family a tornado series, in which almost 500 people died. Supposedly, he wanted to record for his mother a gramophone record, and was discovered for the music world. In Memphis, the story is told a little differently. “He wanted to be easily discovered,” says Brandon Cunning. The musician worshipped Elvis, and makes music in his style, wants to know the legend, but grounded. “He came several times to the Studio, producer Sam Phillips, however, was dissatisfied. Elvis played only ballads, but Phillips did not want to slow music.” What he wanted, he had White previously said: One who played with all the feeling of “black music”. So you could make millions.
Presley got a Chance, played “That’s All Right, Mama” and Phillips was thrilled. As the plate was on the Radio, called hundreds, and even sent telegrams. 14 Time had to be played that evening “That’s All Right”. Plate and the singer were an immediate Hit. He got it just deep down from his heart.” Even Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones says: “He has United black and white music.” Elvis was known that he refused to accept the separation according to skin color, and Black, with all due respect treated.
In Memphis, Elvis bought with his money an estate called Graceland. The basement was hit with a yellow leather, a television room, three channels ran at the same time and in the jungle room there was even a waterfall – Graceland is necessarily to everyone’s taste. No wonder the truck driver from the South later in a Meeting with the British, constantly doubting the Beatles was not really warm. He gathered his friends and gave back to you rich.
