December 18 – Events – Today in Elvis Presley History

1954

Elvis performed in Schreveport, Louisiana Hayride. Elvis sings four songs; “Hearts Of Stone”, “Shake, Rattle And Roll”, Thats all right and Blue moon of Kentucky. ( 8:00 PM )

1968

The Trouble With Girls was completed and finally Elvis was released by the studio.

1969

Somewhat later than usual Elvis returned to Memphis for the Christmas season.
Until his return to Los Angeles on January 6, he would spent almost every night at the Memphian.

1970

In hopes of placating his father, Elvis bought him a Mercedes.
Vernon had expressed his concern about Elvis’ way of spending his money in the last couple of weeks.

1971

Priscilla and Lisa Marie arrived in Memphis and Elvis received a bill for the installation of a basket ball court at his Palm Springs home.

1971 – The U.K. maxi-single reissue of “Jailhouse Rock” hit #42 in the U.K.

1978 – The album “Elvis – A Legendary Performer, Vol. 3” was certified gold by the RIAA.

1982 – The Elvis Presley single “It Won’t Seem Like Christmas Without You” hit #80 in the U.K.

2002 – “Elvis Presley 55” was released. The vinyl release was a collection of Elvis radio shows recorded during 1955.
