1955

Today is the big day. Elvis draws his contract by RCA.

RCA Records purchased Elvis Presley’s recording contract from Sam Phillips at Sun Records for an unprecedented sum of $35,000.As part of this deal Presley’s catalogue was re-released on RCA in 1955, including the single “I Forgot To Remember To Forget.”

1961

Because of a snowstorm, the filming of Kid Galahad had to move back to Hollywood.

1962 – The Elvis Presley film “Girls! Girls! Girls!” opened in the U.S.

1963 – The Elvis Presley film “Fun in Acapulco” premiered.

1964 – Elvis Presley’s single “Ain’t That Loving You Baby” hit #16 in the U.S.

 

1970

Around this time during one of Elvis’ visits to Palm Springs, Elvis met the Vice President, Spiro Agnew. Elvis wanted to give Agnew a special gun as a present, which the Vice President had to refuse. However, he was very impressed by Elvis patriotic sentiments.

1973

During this period Elvis was introduced to racquetball by Dr. Nick who was an accomplished player. This was a kind of therapeutic exercise for Elvis. They played frequently in the early morning at the local Y and at Memphis State.

1976

After sleeping most of the day at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas,
Elvis and Ginger fly back to Memphis in the evening.

 

2006 – The album “Elvis at the Hayride” was released. The live show was the a remastered version of the original recording.
