Bernard ran the Lansky Brothers clothing store on Beale Street in Memphis where Elvis used to buy his clothes. The store was later located in the foyer of the Peabody Hotel. Mr Lansky passed away in November 2012 at the age of 85.

Mr. Lansky’s ancestors were Slavs, his grandfather came to America from Grodno in western Belarus.
