The 12-year-old Ellen Mincey had an accident with her mother on July 4th, 1956 in a car accident. The two Elvis fans attended their idol’s performance at Russwood Baseball Park in Memphis on the same day. Ellen and her mother were admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital immediately after the accident and given medical care.
When Elvis found out about the accident on July 5th, 1956, he immediately got into his famous pink Cadillac to pay the young girl a visit. The visibly surprised and overjoyed Ellen Mincey couldn’t believe that her idol had taken a seat at her bedside.
