Plot:Young truck driver Deke Rivers (Elvis Presley) is discovered as a singer at a public event and signed to a band by publicist Glenda Markle (Lizabeth Scott). His success grows from gig to gig, but privately he has to choose between the publicist who gives him credit for his success and the band’s singer, Susan Jessup (Dolores Hart), who owns his affections.
Elvis’ first color film and for the first time Elvis shows his jet black hair on screen.Notable are the scenes with the band, reflecting the style of his early stage performance: this is also where his longtime musical collaborators Scotty Moore (guitar) and Bill Black (bass) perform.
