According to Elvis himself, the biggest accomplishment in his life was the birth of his daughter, Lisa Marie.
He hoped that his name and legend would carry on long after his death through his child.
February 1st 1968 was Elvis’ happiest day. He could not believe that he had helped create such a wonder. Lisa Marie brought Elvis so much happiness that no one else was able to fill her shoes. Elvis sometimes said that Lisa Marie was his life and that all he ever accomplished was for her.
She brought sunshine into a life later filled with sorrow and poor health. Elvis used to say that Lisa Marie was a true Presley. She enjoyed being in the limelight and soaked up the attention bestowed upon herbby the fans.
She loved to pose for pictures and to mingle with her fathers friends and followers. When Lisa Marie, grew old enough to write, she enjoyed walking down to the Graceland gates to sign autographs for the fans. Lisa Marie got the same thrill out of the fans as her father did. What Elvis loved best about his daughter was that she knew exactly who her daddy was: “Ailvis Presley! The King of Rock n Roll!” Tears welled up in Elvis’ eyes everytime she proudly pronounced the words. Lisa Marie took advantage of her status. She enjoyed bossing around the other inhabitants of Graceland; when she grew old enough to realize her power, she would occasionally threaten to go to Elvis and have someone fired if they did not follow her commands. Elvis hoped his daughter would grow up healthy and smart and not suffer as he had.
