Irish-descent Elvis Aaron Presley was born on 08 January 1935 in a two-bedroom, small house in Mississippi as the son of Vernon and Gladys. He spent his childhood with his grandmother, mother, father, aunts and cousins in the same neighbourhood. Elvis grew up as an only child as his twin brother Jesse Garon died during birth. Although his mother and father didn’t have too much money, they did everything they can to raise him as a prudent young man with a belief in God. Presley family moved to Memphis Tennessee in 1948. Here, Elvis starts Humes High School. Singing was a part of his life. His first solo experience was in the neighbourhood church. When he was 10 years old, he joined a youth talent competition organized by a radio station in Mississippi, Alabama. Since he wasn’t able to reach the microphone, this cute boy stepped on the chair to sing. He was second in the contest and won 5 dollars. This was his first professional job.
MEETING WITH GUITAR
The mother and father of young Elvis who wanted a bike bought a guitar for 13 dollars because it was cheaper. In the meantime, the economy gets worst. Elvis works in different jobs including being a truck driver to contribute to the family and he attended classes in the university at night to become an electric technician. During this period, the biggest entertainment for the family was Elvis playing his new guitar and singing. He starts to grow his hair and comb them back with pomade. He had an attractive style than the youth of this period and he experienced a lot of reaction.

Elvis’ Humane Aspect
What made Elvis the real king was his lesser-known humane aspect rather than his musical career. Elvis spend half of 4 billion dollars (from 1954 until today, this number corresponds to almost 40 billion dollars when the inflation rate in the US is considered) he earned throughout his life to charity.
Elvis said, “I love to see the happy expression when people receive a gift or when their problems are solves” and he is the only artist in the music world with his own charity operations.
Although he had an incredible fortune, he is one of these people who never forget what it means to be poor. Elvis tried to donate to hospitals throughout his life. He gave the right to American Cancer Association to use his name, actively participated in the campaigns about early cancer diagnosis, took photos when donating blood or getting vaccines and supported various health campaigns.
Elvis donates one of his Rolls Royce to be sold in an auction for mentally disabled children in 1968. In 1964, he purchased Franklin Roosevelt’s presidency yacht Potomac, got the yacht restored and donated it to St. Jude Child Research Hospital. This yacht was used for trips to enable children with terminal diseases to spend their last time as good as possible.
Elvis is known to immediately send a cheque to people in trouble (especially with health problems), paid debts of numerous people or paid their mortgage. Since Elvis Presley did most of this work discretely, we don’t know exactly how much he spend on charity.
