George shares, “Shortly after Elvis died, producer Felton Jarvis told me that in one of their last meetings, he and Elvis had started to plan another recording session. Felton played Elvis a number of demos, and knowing that Elvis had some recent success with Mark Jame’s “Moody Blue”, he included another James tune, “Leaving You’s A Natural Thing.” According to Felton, Elvis liked the song enough that he had Felton play it a couple of times. “That’s a Mark James song?” Elvis asked. “Yeah,” said Felton. “But guess who the owner is?” “Who” “GK.” “You mean George Klein GK? Well, damn, put that in the A-stack. We’re definitely going to cut that one.” He never said a word about it to me, and he was gone before that recording session could happen. But I love to think how much he would have enjoyed handing me a copy of him singing my song, just to watch my jaw drop open.”
