Did Elvis ever meet The Rolling Stones?

No, The Rolling Stones never met Elvis Presley. From an interview I read from Mojo Magazine when they interviewed Mick Jagger, Mick said he hadn’t meet Elvis Presley. John Lennon said to go with Chuck Berry, so Mick went with Chuck Berry. He already liked Berry better anyway. Jagger said he did have some regrets for not meeting Elvis because he died later, but he didn’t expect him to die that early since he wasn’t old. But he knew it would’ve horrible not to meet Chuck Berry after listening to him for so long. Presley’s meeting with The Beatles. Let me give you some background information first. Elvis didn’t feel threatened by The Beatles at all. He appreciated their records and song-writing but had a more defensive stand for them. The Beatles didn’t pay too much attention to Elvis because his golden days were over (which did make it feel weird for them to visit him). Elvis wasn’t able to perform live or release any studio albums for over four years starting in 1962 (being enabled t in 1967), resulting in him being stuck in making a bunch of forgotten movies and soundtracks. His old friend, George Klein asked him what his next movie was going to be, and Elvis replied, “Same story, different location. I beat up the bad guys, get the girl, and sing 10 lousy songs” (you thought he would have felt that The Beatles were a threat, but he still didn’t). All of his no effort soundtracks all still managed to get into the Top Twenty on Billboard (7 out of 10 making the Top Ten), but, ironically, when he started making studio albums again, his soundtrack Double Trouble didn’t even reach the Top Forty. Back to the meeting, The Beatles were taken to Graceland, where they met Elvis face to face. Imagine the awkwardness at the moment: two of the greatest rock artists being in the same room. Elvis got things started and broke the silence when he said, “If you guys are going to just sit around and stare at me, I’m going to bed.” That got a laugh out of everyone, and then everyone in the room started talking. Elvis was having a great time. John and Paul were playing with Elvis, Paul (left-handed) had a hard time playing a right-handed guitar. John told Jerry Schilling that he knew Elvis was busy, but him and the Memphis Mafia could come to visit them if they wanted to ( and I think they did). The Beatles still had more respect for Chuck Berry since he wrote his own songs and recorded them and performed. They liked Elvis especially for his performances. The Beatles were influenced more by Chuck Berry.

  1. Your story is off and incorrect on several levels. Just to put it into perspective, you can’t even get the correct location of the meeting between Elvis and The Beatles. It was in California, not Tennessee.
