Elvis took the stage at 9:00pm in front of 2,200 people. Elvis wore his Chief Jumpsuit with the Second Belt!

6.12.76 22:00 hours show (INDIAN FEATHER COSTUME)

HELP ELVIS GET THROUGH THE NIGHT R/T 70 minutes.

Elvis comes out sounding good tonight, but memorably cuts the show short after songs by Kathy Westmoreland and Saun Neilson again, with “HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT” played after the intros instead of the usual “HURT.” A word from TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIPS is played before Blue Xmas and Col Parker appears on stage as the instrumental piece “JINGLE BELLS” is played, as after Col heard about Elvis’s 5.12.76 show, he thought it best to make his presence known by appearing on stage so Elvis would know he was there. (Although the Colonel had a bad back during this stint and Todd Slaughter would drag him out of bed before the next show to say hello!) However, Elvis does mention during “AMEN” that he has an ankle brace and complains about the sound. Then, just before performing at CHFIL, Elvis sounds weak and withdrawn as he says he has sprained his ankle and is in a lot of pain in his leg, and he can tolerate the pain, “but it’s starting to interfere with my singing and I can’t deal with it,” so he hopes it will get better tomorrow or the next night. The show goes well, sort of.
