Very impatient Elvis got off the train in Lafayette, rented a car and drove the rest of
the way to Memphis. This would be his first night in his new home.

Elvis flew back to Los Angeles with Red West, Jerry Schilling, Marty Lacker and Charlie Hodge,
because his bus needed a new engine. The others had left a few days earlier, driving Elvis’
new black Cadillac Eldorado convertible and several other cars plus a trailer full
of motorcycles.

The crowd was 20000 and Elvis wore the “Peacock” suit with original belt.

Elvis performed at the Capital Center Arena, Landover, Maryland at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m.
Both times the crowd was 13500. Both times Elvis wore “Blue Egyptian bird” suit with original
belt. Elvis was visited backstage by Elton John.

Elvis performed at the Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana at 8:30 p.m.
The crowd was 18000 and Elvis wore the Mexican sundial suit with the original belt for
the last time. This was the last performance Elvis ever did.
After a very good show Elvis and Ginger returned to Memphis.
