On July 15, 1959, it was publicly announced that Elvis, after his military service and return from his stationing in Germany, would appear in Frank Sinatra’s last Timex show, which was sponsored by the watch manufacturer of the same name. The program was supposed to be the first television appearance for the former soldier in over 3 years and was to be entitled “Welcome Home Elvis”.

On March 26, 1960, the Frank Sinatra Timex Show was recorded by ABC-TV at the Fontainebleau Hotel. At the beginning of the show, Elvis took the stage in his army uniform. He sang “It’s Nice To Go Trav’ling” with the other guest stars, including Nancy Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Then the young rock star from Memphis could be heard with his songs, Fame And Fortune and Stuck On You

After a total of almost 8 minutes on the screen and a short advertisement for his new film G.I.Blues, Elvis left the show.
